The original release of joy division s seminal album unknown pleasures was on 15th june 1979 and to celebrate this 40 year old record warner music are reissuing a special edition on 180g ruby red vinyl. A limited edition 40 th anniversary version of unknown pleasures will be released on june 14 th almost forty years to the day after it was originally released.

The lp is pressed on 180g ruby red vinyl with an alternative white sleeve resembling the original design idea. The reissue will come housed in alternative artwork that still features the iconic waveform design but amended to more closely resemble the original specs by peter saville switching. Pulsar in black on white on side a outside and white on black on side b inside. Side b is inside white label.

The vinyl is transparent. The album will be pressed on ruby red 180g vinyl and will come packaged in alternative artwork a white sleeve that resembles the original peter saville design concept. According to the band while the album s black sleeve has become one of the most iconic designs in popular music history the original design was supposed to be white with black accents. Available on red vinyl the lp will feature a white sleeve that resembles the original cover concept of unknown pleasures.
